Audubon Murals: Amazing Street Art Walk in The Heights
Explore the vibrant streets of Washington Heights and discover the Audubon Mural Project. This walking tour highlights murals of North American bird species that are threatened by climate change, based on a scientific report released by the National Audubon Society.
Works by both professional and street artists are displayed on roll-down gates and building walls in a neighborhood few tourists visit. Along the way, learn about the birds, the artists, and the project’s environmental message. You’ll also visit the final resting place of John James Audubon himself in beautiful Trinity Cemetery.
Tour duration: approx. 2 hours
Tour begins at Broadway and 145th Street and ends at Broadway and 145th Street (a flat walk, about 1.5 miles in total)
